Embrace Technology Artist

iTunes is an online content wholesale platform by Apple and  Play Store is another  Google. These are international online platforms that house millions of contents from internationally renowned geniuses from all sectors.

Local artistes can gain traffic from such a competition-saturated environment created by this platforms
"I am not taking anything away from our local geniuses but all I am saying is the competition is very stiff and we need our own local online platforms to market and sell our products, with that, traffic is gained from within the localized people" said Super Mandiwanzira.

Most of media products that people find or access online is form American celebrities because platforms that necessitate wholesale of their content can be accessed online. As Zimbabweans we need to migrate to the digital zone and create online stores where people from different parts of the world can buy Zimbabwean media products that is helping artists gain profits.

One major thing that we should always keep in mind is that people who produce and distribute media products should benefit from it and they can only do so if online platforms that are going to consistently market their products are opened. This will also give recognition of artists around the globe.

media piray is a nightmare to the zimbwawean intertainment industry

As we continue to embrace technology we should not forget that the package comes in with some disadvantages as well. It has made people's lives easy and fast such that at time we seem to forget that it has its negatives as well. one of the main disadvantages of technology on the entertainment industry is piracy.

People should remember that some artists actually depend on  their careers for survival  hence if their content is not sold it means there would be no food on the table. It is a well known fact that a black human being will obviously prefer to buy cheaper things so that they can save the little they even though the item they purchased is a cheap quality item. They just do not care as long as it is cheap they buy.

Technology has enabled our people to make copies of media content using their recorders then they sell those copies from as little as a $1. As Zimbabweans we tend to forget that artists have to use money to produce their products and they need top pump out money to use whatever medium as long as their content reaches many people but those product are then sold from as little as dollar it means they won't make any profit for their product.

We always say our entertainment industry is doomed . They are making any progress but we are contributing to the fall of our own media industries but we continue to complain . We should use technology to boost and improve our entertainment industry for a better Zimbabwe. Recently there was  a headline by techno-mag: Media Piracy is A Nightmare to the Zimbabwean entertainment industry. This indicates the great extent of the impact of technology on our entertainment industry.

TECHNOLOGY GIVING BIRTH TO ONLINE MAGAZINES

The main reasons why most people love technology so much is because it is slowly leading them to a paperless world. technology and the benefits that come with has led to the emergence of online magazines in Zimbabwe. it should be noted that most people now prefer to access most of their stuff such as newspaper, music, movies, novels online which is the reason most magazines are now migrating to online.

Technology is now enabling people to buy and read magazines online without having to spend so much time perusing through the pages one after the other . in simpler terms our live have been made easier because of technology.

one of the local magazines that have emerged on-line  is a student's magazine called Campus Moments. This a students magazine by NUST students which is meant to give a platform for students to participate, interact, air their views and promote freedom of expression. In this digital age most student indicated that it would be advisable for them to access the magazine online because they would not have them money to buy hard copies. Hard copies are expensive because they come in with the printing fee so it would cost much cheaper online.

Apart from this, an online magazine has a far reaching than hard copies because it would be sold on the internet and people from different parts of the world can access it otherwise hard copies would have to sold locally in order to cut traveling costs for the distribution of the magazine.

Technomag is also another magazine that has emerged online because of technology. Technomag is an online magazine which is operating online which covers news, entertainment, technology e.t.c

technology a gateway to fame

One of the advantages of using technology is that people around the world can share their content on the virtual communities that the internet has enabled. People from different parts of the world are now able to access content from other parts of the world. Some of our local artists have used technology as a gateway to  fame and popularity.

The Zimbabwean artist started sing with his well known brother, Eric whilst they were still young when he was still studying at St Columbus High School. He was later introduced to the Joyous Celebration Music Team when one of the founders of Joyous Celebration, Lindelani Mkhize realised that this Zimbawean artist was very talented when he rocked South Africa with the Zimbabwean well known hymn, 'Ichokwadi'.

The recognition of our local artists makes us appreciate the platforms that the new information technologies have enabled in order to promote Zimbabwean artist because it is well known that it is not really easy  for one to sustain and flourish in the music industry because our economy is poor.  At this point Mkhululi is known a well known artist who was born and bred in Zimbabwe because of technology hence technology continues to  help him gain more popularity as people see his content on the internet and other platforms like you tube.com.

technology and Zimbabwean artists

I would like to believe that technology has influenced the development of the entertainment industry of Zimbabwe. it is because of the emergence of the new icts  that the Zimbabwean  entertainment industry but we should bear in mind that this has also come with negative impacts on our local artists for example Sandra Ndebele.

Sandra Ndebele
Our very popular Sandy gained most popularity due to these new technologies. Posts about Sandra Ndebele going viral were posted all over social media networks which in turn tarnished the image of the artist.

Due to this even today Sandra still carries that image and most people still do not believe that she has changed for the better. She is married just like other normal women in our society and has a normal family but the media tarnished her image to an extemt that its hard for people to accept that she is a normal woman who even goes to church at Brethren In Christ church.

Yes we love the information technologies because they help us gain popularity but what about negative popularity what can we say about being famous the wrong way.

I was shocked when i saw a Sandy's Facebook link on google. It says the "Unmatcheable Sexsational Queen of all Times." Can you imagine how her husband even feels when such a word is used to refer to the mother of his kids all this is a price that comes in with social media.

social media threatens SA artist

A number of Zimbabweans are using social media to advocate that locals must boycott all scheduled shows were South African musicians are set to perform.
It seems there are plans to boycott the BigNuz_Afroo show set to happen in  Bulawayo on the 19th of April as a protest against xenophobic attacks on foreigners currently happening in South Africa.

most people think that it is a noble idea, and further add that all right minded Zimbabweans boycott this shows in solidarity with their brothers and sisters who are suffering down South. this Boycott is said that it must be so until these artists begin speaking out against these senseless XENOPHOBIC attacks on innocent Zimbabweans

But many South Africans have also use the same platform to also advocate against this  xenophobic attacks.  Tweeting under different hashtags such as #NoToXenophobia, #WeAreAfrica, #Loveafrica South Africans expressed their views.

zim artists public relating online

The new information technologies are enabling artists to public relate with their fans on-line. This just proves that one does not really have to school in order to be taught how public relations practitioners ought to behave. social media is enabling one on one interaction between artists and fans.

Our very own Zimbabwean artists are using social media platforms to create relations with publics so as to influence their fans and different people around the world to buy their content.

It should be considered that a relationship between artists and the public is very important and it is the relationship and the image that they create for themselves in the public eye that will determine their success in the entertainment industry.

Platforms like Facebook and Tweeter enable artists and public to create themselves and other internet enabled platforms enable publics to keep constant check on them get to know more about them especially by viewing their profiles on-line.

At the end of the day artists are now using new technologies to engage with the publics so as to create strong and sustainable relationships which can pave way to their success in this very competitive industry.
